Amalgam-Free Practice

Amalgam-Free Practice

We have not used amalgam in our clinic since 2010 – long before the EU-wide ban took effect on January 1, 2025.
But for us, it’s not just about avoiding amalgam:
Even though public insurance currently covers only a basic, long-used filling material (commonly referred to as “stone cement”), we choose to use a clearly superior and more biocompatible alternative – glass ionomer cement (GIC).
This material is:
• gentle on tooth structure
• pulp-friendly and biocompatible
• provides better bonding to the tooth
It does wear over time – but overall, it’s a far healthier and more effective choice.

And: we do not charge extra for it.
It has always been our principle to offer high-quality care to all patients – without additional costs.
